Hello 2017

Dec 2016 brought me some very exciting news which lead to a posh sandwich lunch (Yep.....no crusts) at Bovey Castle for a launch of an exciting project. I am pleased to announce that my design submission for the  Dartmoor National Park 100 Moor Otters project has been accepted. The Project will see one hundred 3 ft otter sculptures decorated by one hundred selected artists. Once complete the otters will be positioned in different locations within and around the National Park for everyone to enjoy. The otters will then be auctioned off to raise funds for Dartmoor National Park Conservation projects.

My otter design is based on some very special people who like the otter can also be found on Dartmoor, are rarely seen in the daylight as most of their work is carried out under the cover of darkness. You might have heard of them or indeed required their assistance. They are a highly skilled and dedicated group of volunteers they are Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Ashburton. My design concept was to not only raise funds to help the conservation of our National Park but to also raise awareness of a small charity searching for the missing and saving lives across Dartmoor.

I have been busy working away on my otter over the Christmas period and have been keeping a photo diary of his development stages. Please visit my Artists Facebook page or my website if you would like to keep up to date on his progress.
